from the previous article, it doesn't appear the Bounty has wintered in St Pete in quite some time:
St. Petersburg, Fla., was the ship's permanent home for 21 years until Turner Broadcasting bought the MGM film library in 1986.
The ship left St. Petersburg and Tampa Bay to go to Miami and travel the West Coast, East Coast and Great Lakes. In 1993, media tycoon Ted Turner donated the ship to the city of Fall River, Mass.
regardless, she was a beautiful vessel and the tragic loss of life if heartbreaking, everyone who worked on and volunteered will be devastated |
