I see this site estimates $20 billion, but this story says $35-$45 billion. This story says $10 billion
Personally, I'm thinking they can't possibly have a clue just yet & possibly not for years - buildings will be inspected, more damages will be found, costs will go up, etc, etc...
It will likely keep the numbers people debating & crunching numbers for quite some time
To everyone who has suffered damage or had loved ones injured or lost, the numbers really don't matter, because it is currently their most painful loss & you just can't put a number on that
