| Left manhattan, had my girlfriends parents pick us up and take us out to north jersey. Unbelievable the huge trees that are down. Uprooted trees whose roots are ten feet high as the trees lay on their sides. Two of their families cars were taken out by a tree, but thankfully everyone is safe. My apartment in NYC has no power and I decided we better get out. There are millions and millions of people without power which in NYC means no toilet, no elevator, no communication, no Fresh water in huge high rises. This is a potentially dangerous situation setting up...as looting has already been reported in queens, brooklyn and the south street seaport. This will only get worse as people get more desperate. I have many friends in hoboken who are bein resced by boats. These people were NOT evacuated. Only ground floor hoboken apartments were evacuated in Hoboken. Half the town is still under water. Honesty I didn't feel safe last night so we got out. Will update further if I see or hear anything else. |
