TROPICAL CYCLONE FORECAST TRACK MAP Severe Tropical Cyclone Narelle Issued at 8:48 pm WST Saturday 12 January 2013. Refer to Tropical Cyclone Advice Number 24. ![]() The forecast path shown above is the Bureau's best estimate of the cyclone's future movement and intensity. There is always some uncertainty associated with tropical cyclone forecasting and the grey zone indicates the range of likely tracks of the cyclone centre. Due to the uncertainty in the future movement, the indicated winds will almost certainly extend to regions outside the rings on this map. The extent of the warning and watch zones reflects this. This product is designed for land-based communities; mariners should read the coastal waters and high seas warnings. Remarks: Severe Tropical Cyclone Narelle is expected to move to the south southwest and pass west of the Northwest Cape on Sunday. If the cyclone moves on a track which brings it closer to the coast then gales with gusts to 100 kilometres per hour may develop in coastal areas between Onslow and Cape Cuvier on Sunday and may extend south to Denham early Monday. Tides along the west Pilbara coast are likely to rise above the normal high tide mark with flooding of low lying coastal areas possible. Higher than normal tides should extend along the west coast Saturday night and continue into early next week. DFES-State Emergency Service advises of the following community alerts: BLUE ALERT: Coastal and island communities from Onslow to Coral Bay including Exmouth should be taking precautions. Communities between Coral Bay and Denham should listen for the next advice. Name: Severe Tropical Cyclone Narelle Details: Time (WST) Intensity Category Latitude (decimal deg.)
