THIS FEATURE IS THE SAME FEATURE THAT WAS IN CENTRAL TEXAS 24 HOURS AGO. A SURFACE TROUGH IS ALONG 92W/93W FROM 24N TO 29N. CONVECTIVE PRECIPITATION... NUMEROUS STRONG IN THE GULF OF MEXICO FROM 23N TO 25N BETWEEN 87W AND 90W...FROM 24N TO 26N BETWEEN 84W AND 87W...AND FROM 28N TO 29N BETWEEN 84W AND 86W. Gulf of Mexico Satellite: http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/imagery/gmex.html
ASCAT: http://manati.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/datasets/ASCATData.php Nothing much going on under that at the moment at the surface, at least a little earlier. It is a good looking blob though. Have not seen one like that this year.
I got just over two inches of rain yesterday morning. A big yippee! for me. We don't have much of a drought in comparison to last year here, but it is nice to get something from the sky rather than the sprinkler. (Being right around Tampa Bay, something magically makes me get less rain usually, even the mets here sometimes scratch their head at why.) I'm hoping the blobish thing gives me some more. I'm greedy. |
