I hate responding to this thread because it is a political hot potato with very simple solutions.
A)Create rollover budgets just like minutes you don't use on a cell phone. There are years that NHC & recon go nuts over crappy storms that do not need to be dissected,keep the flights & staff as needed. The notion that every year we need more money than the previous is crazy and that we have to force feed proposed budgets is a slap in the tax payers face. Spend it or lose it needs to stop and that money needs to be saved. Labor is always the first thing cut, it does not need to be.
B) Raise income tax as we still have some of the lowest for industrialized nations, or simply create higher taxes on all expenses & scrap income tax there will be much more money on the table.
C)Get rid of lobbyist and overspending in programs that are not needed such as one billion for tanks even the military says it does not need and put it into the science programs. |
