See what I like about Twitter (someone has to like it right???) is that you know that saying you can choose your friends but not your family? On Facebook you can't tell the annoyign sister-in-law or loud mouth drunken uncle or the cousin who posts every time she is upset with someone (EVERY 20 MINUTES OR SO....) that you don't want to be their friend.  If you hide their posts... they always find out about it and start some whole family drama which isn't worth it. And, you try hard to ignore but their stupid MEMES that are either hate on men or hate on women or hate on anyone and then there are the CAT PHOTOS..........

I'm sorry I love cats as much as the next person. I even love dogs when they are not jumping all over me slobbering and barking... begging to go out for a walk but WHY.... WHY....WHY do they need to post every picture of the cat staring?  I do love cats...they are soft and  purr nice but I know my past cats and they would be aghast if I was posting their pics 24/7 on Facebook.

As for spam... choose the people you follow carefully. I keep the list low and the moment I see someone hawking a Steven King book or movie or MLM product they are off my list fast....

Buying leads is as old as the sun. One reason people do it also is to look "established" so people think that name has been around a long time when in fact they are no more than someone akin to ummm Berwick Bay shall I say? Some people burn out their Twitter accounts and then use another name, make a new account and buy 5K names like Jim said for relatively cheaply and they are suddenly a verifiable expert in whatever.

Always the same game with a new market place.

I do get good fast news from Twitter. RT is RT but if something is breaking in the world they have news faster than CNN ...hmmmm or FOX....hmmmm. If I need a pic of snow in Jax fast it's on Twitter before anywhere else usually.

If I hear sirens out on the main street I can oddly go to Twitter and find out why.

That said I do not look for Twitter followers. In fact I probably go out of my way to lay low and just watch the flow of news. My kids tease me they can get my attn there faster than anywhere but if I am not paying attn there ... I'm not watching the recipe, game requests and hearing for the 3rd time in a day that so and so has had it with the world.

If I delete someone on Twitter no one really cares... okay some would care but very few.

It comes. It goes.

Jim is 100% right nothing is as good as a good message board or postng board or .. well let's just say we wouldn't be here if we weren't on the Old Palm Beach Post Board whatever it was called or AOL or Myspace (where I did become great friends with Larry Cosgrove and others ) Facebook.. now it's Twitter and a new social media every other day.

I'm here to stay...or as long as you'll have me.
