Thanks. G-IV just finished up its mission. Air Force recon seems to be having communications issues. They are probably done by now.

Jim was mentioning in the live show about this from the discussion:
"Joaquin is expected to remain in an environment of moderate northeasterly vertical shear for the next 24-36 hours, possibly including strong winds seen at 400 mb in recent dropsondes from the G-IV aircraft. However, since it has been steadily strengthening in such an environment, there is no obvious reason to think it will stop doing so."
The G-IV, sampling around the storm, found some higher winds in the sondes north of the storm at around the 400mb level. Some sondes on the flight path just north of the storm of around 30 knots around that level and then the furthest north part of the flight track around 20 knots.

8pm NHC track. Satellite imagery at 9pm EDT from SSEC.
By the way, I have created a new overlay product. I just made it easier to access SSEC Google Earth data: http://tropicalatlantic.com/overlays/SSEC_Overlays_for_Google_Earth.kmz (file opens in Google Earth)
