wow, hope your grandma's stuff gets figured out & taken care of - had a similar issue at my mom's a couple years back - she was old & "didn't want to bother anyone", so didn't tell anyone else, waited til we came from 1,500 miles away & asked us to "check the propane tank" when we went outside to have a cigarette... some elderly ppl lose their sense of smell for various reasons, she couldn't tell anything was different, but a neighbor had mentioned they smelled it as they walked by her property - the gas co fixed their connection eventually... she's gone now, I miss her... :(
