Good show from what I did catch of it...and to talk about Cape Verde, I believe you would use the Spanish pronunciation for it, which is "Cabo Verd"  the "e" is silent in the Spanish languge.  Verde in Spanish means green so the island name mean green cape.

Here is a better version of pronunciation:

In Southern (Sotovento) Creole, it's KAHboo VEHrdee,
in Northern (Barlavento) Creole, it's KAHB(uh) VEHrd.
