older versions did not completely uninstall, leaving security flaws that could be used to compromise - new versions completely remove older versions now - only took a lawsuit... this article has links

when finished, it will prompt you to install the newest version, which you may or may not want to do - it's not automatic, completely your choice
for me, Firefox has less trust in Adobe Flash products, but since I'm not a trusting individual, they are checked, updated daily - if you use Mozilla Firefox, you can check your plugins here:

it's a dangerous cyber-world out there, I trust very little... I won't even use a smart phone
