Hot and dry in Florida

Today in Tampa we hit 96 degrees at the airport. It also blew away the record for the month, 93, that was matched yesterday.

A RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 96 DEGREES WAS SET AT TAMPA TODAY. THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 91 SET IN 1991. THIS ALSO BREAKS THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE RECORDED FOR THE MONTH. THE OLD RECORD WAS 93 DEGREES SET YESTERDAY AND ALSO IN 1975 AND 1958.
Meanwhile, our severe drought continues. We're the unlucky part...

Since September, 45.2% of average rainfall. (over 8 months) Since October, 37.4% of average rainfall. (over 7 months) Since November, 32.4% of average rainfall. (over 6 months)
At least we have a massive reservoir for our water: http://www.tampabaywater.org/current-reservoir-levels.aspx 8.31 billion gallons of water left as of yesterday. (capacity is 15.5 billion gallons) Level was 8.42 billion gallons the day before. |
