It's this bad and it's still days from being over. I see those river levels in that area shooting upward: https://water.weather.gov/ahps/region.php?state=tx¤t_type=near
And for a lot of people, it's too late to go anywhere.
In terms of the fresh water flooding, this is very much like Katrina. Happened a different way, but the result is the same, people resorting to having to go into their attics in places. I see serious recommendations on Twitter about telling people to remember to bring an ax to break out of the roof if they need to. It's heartbreaking.
