Just returned from the beach near Springmaid pier. Today is my 65th birthday so my wife and I went to Damon's for dinner, just a few hundred yards north of Springmaid. The pier has not been rebuilt since Hurricane Matthew last October 2016.
Wind was out of the East.....20-25 mph or so. The surf was very rough....yet many people still on the beach plus in the water. Clouds building off to the south southeast.
Checked the National Hurricane Center when we returned and see that the next Potential Tropical Cyclone will track over our area here bringing 3-5 inches of rain.
I have little concern with the situation here....my concerns are for the good people of Texas
