They also updated the costs for the top 5 hurricanes since 1900.
Mainland United States tropical cyclones causing at least 1 billion dollars of damage, 1900-2017 (not adjusted for inflation):
1. Katrina (SE FL, LA, MS) - 2005 ($125 billion) 1. Harvey (TX, LA) - 2017 ($125 billion) 3. Maria (PR, USVI) - 2017 ($90 billion) 4. Sandy (Mid-Atlantic & NE US) - 2012 ($65 billion) 5. Irma (FL) - 2017 ($50 billion)
Costliest mainland United States tropical cyclones, 1900-2017, after accounting for inflation to 2017 dollars:
1. Katrina (SE FL, LA, MS) - 2005 ($160 billion) 2. Harvey (TX, LA) - 2017 ($125 billion) 3. Maria (PR, USVI) - 2017 ($90 billion) 4. Sandy (Mid-Atlantic & NE US) - 2012 ($70.2 billion) 5. Irma (FL) - 2017 ($50 billion)
