I really don't like these seasonal forecasts. Your statistics are better. Some people may care about hearing the overall numbers, but most people want to know their own risk. With the caveat of course that you could be way overdue, or just got hit hard last year, and you can still get hit this year. You always have to prepare, but it's still nice to know the statistics for where you are specifically. I know that I say that every year and it gets repetitive, but it's for those that don't know. I just hate the seasonal numbers getting so much coverage every year. I like knowing them to see how they do, but I wish they didn't get so much coverage among the public. I only posted about the seasonal forecast because inevitably it does gets covered a lot and I don't want people to forget that they don't really tell you anything that relates specifically to where someone is located. Some meteorologists do better than others covering the seasonal forecasts, but then you get reporters covering it and they may make it sound like it means more than it is, especially when the forecast is for a below average season. I like to know if my area hasn't been hit for awhile and is increasingly statistically overdue. I should prepare regardless, but it's something I like to know and I think other people like to know too.
