Cypresstex; Could that dry air being wrapped into the warm humid air that comprises the storm, have the effect of actually increasing the intensity of at least some of the thunderstorms within the storm ?
Since both warm dry air and cool dry air undercuts warm moist air and causes the WM air to rise, I am thinking that at least in some cases, some amount of dry or relatively dry air, entering a hurricane at certain levels could serve to increase the intensity of some storms ?
I am puzzled by just how it is that a dry air mass can remain dry, over vast stretches of 80 plus degree tropical waters, for days and even weeks at a time ?
It's also a mystery to me how, on many hot humid summer days, I have looked at sat shots of what is according to those sat shots, dry surface air covering not just my location, but much of the SE US ?
Well, I should shut up and get back to work !
Take care and thanks for all the fast and easy links !
