Could be a destructive wind event here on long island(especially on the southshore where I am)

...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THURSDAY TO 10 AM EST
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...South winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph
expected.

* WHERE...In Connecticut, Northern Middlesex, Northern New
London, Southern New Haven, Southern Middlesex and Southern
New London Counties. In New York, Northwestern Suffolk,
Northeastern Suffolk, Southwestern Suffolk and Southeastern
Suffolk Counties.

* WHEN...From 6 PM Thursday to 10 AM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around
trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of
your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if
you must drive.
