Good to hear they're good. Most of my family in Tennessee lives between two counties south to two counties southeast of Humphreys County, where the flooding was, so they're all good. I looked last night and saw there was only about 2 inches or less for two counties where most of my family lives. (most of my family lives in Wayne, Lawrence and Maury counties)
I was really surprised at the flooding. I hadn't paid attention until I started seeing the reports last night on it and then a lot more today about how deadly it was. Things like that can seemingly come out of nowhere. (compared to tropical cyclones like Henri where there can be days of advance warning about possible flooding from rain)
There have been so many weather disasters. From too much rain, to extreme drought, extreme heat and massive fires.
I keep forgetting to check Jeff Masters and Bob Henson's blog: https://yaleclimateconnections.org/topic/eye-on-the-storm/
But they have a post from August 13th about how July 2021 was Earth's warmest month in recorded history: https://yaleclimateconnections.org/2021/08/july-2021-was-earths-warmest-month-in-recorded-history-says-noaa/
