I understood every word of that. You're right, after this is over, I would like to go back to review the way you did that analysis. It would also be interesting to look at Camille in 1969 which was much smaller, but hit 190 mph (at last reading before the anemometers broke). I see from the link you posted that Katrina had wind gusts of 213 mph over water and 196 mph near landfall.
