It's looking like we'll make it through the entirety of August without a named storm. 91L east of the Antilles and 93L way up in the northern North Atlantic seem like they will hold off past midnight UTC on September 1st. 80% on both through 5 days.

Floaters:

Atlantic wide view for 91L:

All three of NOAA's aircraft have been in or around 91L, both P-3s have been in 91L and the one G-IV has been sampling around it.

Non-tasked missions (not tasked by the NHC):

Plan of the Day:

The GFS develops both 91L and 93L. Euro develops 93L and at times 91L.

GFS:

Euro:

Long term, 91L could potentially be around Bermuda and 93L could be near the Azores potentially. Still too soon to know where 91L will go though. At times the Euro has stuck 91L around, not moving too much. GFS is generally faster, sending it out into the Atlantic with most recent runs being east of Bermuda. But still early.

Something is going to form and break the streak. Just a matter of how many days. But it's been a surprising stretch of inactivity.

Jeff Masters and Bob Henson's blog has covered some of the recent events:

Recent posts about Pakistan floods and a category 5 hurricane in the Pacific. The post today about the category 5 hurricane that was in the Pacific has information about 91L and 93L at the bottom of it.
