I never heard anything more from them. Probably won't.

I really wish they would allow some use by someone who doesn't make money from it, but oh well. Allowing fair use like that wouldn't mean they are abandoning their copyright. But if you can get Facebook to simply take everything down, I guess some people are just willing to do that.

I'm just used to giving away stuff for free. Sometimes I have had video or pictures that people or companies have wanted to use and I just give it to them.

The BBC and CBBC in the U.K. have used video of a walking catfish in my neighborhood that I filmed. I just let them have it. They sent a DVD of the BBC program it was used in. Another BBC program wanted a clip from a video I took of a squirrel playing with a stick. (I was looking at my email and forgot I had authorized that one)

Some people have used some pictures I took in Washington, D.C., but I just made them public domain on Wikipedia so they don't even have to ask any more:

And eventually I'll make the code of my model and recon systems free, if I ever get around to updating them.

But for major companies, I can see charging for some video content. I haven't, but I just don't have a lot of content.
