| In some ways I like hearing the NHC talk about something early, because I'm a weather nerd. But I do wonder about the general public seeing a 7 day potential formation area. Things may be talked about more often that don't develop and the areas drawn will sometimes be larger. More people on alert to pay attention isn't bad, but I'm curious how people will react to it. I do hope they never do a 7 day forecast for the public though when it comes to storm advisories. Talking about something that could form as much as 7 days out, and talking about something that has already formed and where it is forecast to be at 7 days, is very different. The official advisory cone would be very large at 7 days and I don't think the public reaction would be positive to it. But this could work for a potential formation area through 7 days. |
