were both tropical storms, not even a cat 1...

when I read about the "cat 6" stuff in the news again, it just felt like someone's shiny object... I think it would do more harm, like you said, making the lower categories then feel like less of a threat

we need to use an IKE scale (Integrated Kinetic Energy, not hurricane Ike) in addition to what is currently used, when a storm is closer to land impact and it's a damned shame that after public tax dollars helped fund the research, the private company involved got to take control of it forever, for profit

I do think what they will experimentally do, starting this August, is a good step in the right direction
