& although the ignition source isn't confirmed yet, I would bet it was a landowner burning pasture & it got out of hand. My family did that on our farm every spring when I was growing up - it got rid of unwanted weeds, thatch, etc & the ashes added nutrients back to the soil, made better product for baling & grazing.
