I kind of wondered if the tide would continue to rise or go down during the low tide. It chose to keep on rising for the most part. Might temporarily be leveling off before the real climb begins. I went back and forth on evacuating and in the end decided not to. That would be because I just wrapped my doors in plastic and with 100 driveway pavers. Maybe several hundred, that I borrowed from a neighbor, along with some boards, other tiles and some other stuff, me and my dad have built a barrier around the areas where the water would come in. It won't stop it if it comes up, but it will hopefully reduce how fast it comes in. Also, I built a ramp in my garage with them and drove my car up onto them. We've been busy. Based on some of the forecasts, I do expect the water to come up high enough to flood me some, but hopefully too much won't get it in if it does come up. I tried. Most every neighbor is staying. I might have convinced one neighbor to leave. People can see how seriously I'm taking it even though I am not evacuating. People should evacuate, but we are really careful with the coronavirus and that was also a consideration. We put everything in our house up higher that we could. I have a couch on old newspaper bins. But there is so much you just can't protect.

I'll post pictures later perhaps. Still need to finish the garage and front door, but got all across the back. Ten sliding glass door panels, an atrium door to help protect four other sliding door panels, and two doors so far. Just need to do across the garage real quick and the front door eventually. Then I can come in the kitchen window to get back in. It's barely rained here so far. A little gusty right now. But surge is the focus. Can't ever predicts things like tornadoes of course.

Hopefully people to the north have gotten out of the area. Whatever happens here, we're lucky. Inches or even a foot of water or so is little compared to somewhere on a second story like the Big Bend area.
