I forgot to look at the GFS ensemble members:

Main GFS:

While it is too early to know where what could develop might go, it's nice when there are a lot of recent runs not hitting Florida. That far out in time though, what the model shows that far out is not really relevant. But what is, is that something could develop in the western Caribbean. Bring on the fronts that can lift things out better and eventually out to sea. Of course, for those in the Caribbean, they would still get whatever storm that forms.

I decided to no longer post to Twitter. I think I had only posted like twice this year, but I deleted the few tweets I had. I logged in to Twitter I think yesterday to see what was trending or something and what was featured, sponsored, was something from a racist organization, dedicated to lies, promoting something racist. So, that was it for me. I doubt Twitter, never calling it anything else, will ever change hands unless court ordered for some reason. I don't know if during a storm I might still post something here from there. It remains the place where most people are, but maybe Bluesky will catch on more. I hope something does.

Social media is really getting on my nerves. I guess during the hurricanes there was a lot of conspiracy theories going around about the storms. More than usual. Someone even asked me in person about one of them. I've never encountered that before. I politely said it wasn't true. I've been thinking about it since it happened.

Two local news stations have now discussed the hype around the possible next storm online. I mean, they said that you've probably seen the discussion online, but I really doubt they mean that there is an intelligent discussion online about what could develop, that it's too early to know where it might go and at this point all we can say is that something could develop. And good job everyone being responsible in that No, social media isn't that way overall. Never was, but it sure isn't now by far. Only rarely have I seen evidence of the hype and the amount of views it gets. Something shouldn't have a million views in one day when someone like Levi Cowan's views are 100 thousand or less on all but 15 videos. And his top video is 534 thousand from 5 years ago. Some people want to spread fear, which is a common theme on social media now, it drives clicks. And it's very darn successful as we can see from a lot of things other than weather.

Rant over, lol.

I decided to see if it Bluesky has a trends section and don't see anything. But in looking it up I came across this recent news article about how it seems to be catching on:

I like it.
