A video presentation would be interesting. I don't know how easy it it to create the GIFs he makes. I guess video is harder. The NHC with these briefings have a screen they can point to. I guess if you could do a presentation you could draw on, and that was more technical, it would be interesting to also have, but again, probably too hard. Too much work for the NHC to put out regularly. Would be interesting in special cases. For this storm for example there remains a lot of uncertainty about where it is going. Or even if it would survive until another landfall. But if you were to go over all that, it would be too confusing for most people. These briefings work best to be direct and to the point, focusing more on the near term impacts that are known with more certainty. That latest briefing, for Wednesday evening, shows the cone and he talks about how everyone around that area of the Gulf where it is expected to go should watch it. Showing the technical aspects as to why would be too much for a general public video.
But I love the technical ones too. Levi does a great job on his videos. Most informative technical presentation I've ever seen. It is actually understandable to a lot of people. If he didn't work at the JTWC, he should be at the NHC.
