I can remember a previous instance where the GFS went one way and the Euro went the other. I can't remember which storm it was. I think it was approaching the northern Gulf coast and it was either to make a left turn or right turn. It was either a strong tropical storm or maybe category one hurricane. I don't remember if it was just before landfall or maybe after it. I'm bad with remembering storms. But it reminds me of this kind of distinct difference.
There's time to prepare of course as it is in the middle of the Gulf. To the south, could be stronger, to the north, likely much weaker. Models are more either or, but if it went more west perhaps it would be something in between. If it were to slow down it might upwell some cooler waters too. |
