MSNBC and Fox News are generally not the place for world news. They really only ever cover politics. CNN has been best for world news for years. During the Indian Ocean tsunami they had it covered all night through CNN International. Not sure if they ever went to that last night though. With a lot of international presence, I guess they have the resources and motivation to cover international stories thoroughly. I tried last night too to get information and both of the other news channels had nothing every time I flipped between them. Only really late did they finally have a little snippet on one of the other networks before they went back to talking about politics with a repeat of the programs earlier that night.
Although if any breaking news happens on a weekend, there is rarely one that covers it well. MSNBC has documentaries at night. CNN has repeats. Fox News has more live coverage on weekends, but then it would usually not be great for world events. |
