LSU Hurricane Specialist Sues University

World renowned hurricane scientist Van Heerdon has sued LSU (happened a few days ago, didn't see it posted on message board). Van Heerdon was prominent among the "doomsday group" who warned about the possible effects of a major hurricane strike at New Orleans. His work was validated in the aftermath of Katrina. He has continued to criticize the subsequent work done on the levees at New Orleans, post Katrina, calling out the Army Corps of Engineers for sub-par work and for a PR campaign designed to assuage fears of another Katrina type disaster. He blames his firing on LSU's relationship with and dependence on the Federal Govt., in which he says was funding for the university was jeopardized by his criticism of the Army Corps of Engineers.
