reanalysis has yet to reach 1969

the entire HURDAT record, except for the year of reanalysis is something that probably should not be used for anything. For example, there is now research ongoing as to whether there would have been fewer cat 5s since 1990 if we used 40s and 50s technology. Only Andrew and Mitch would have been cat 5s. Even Wilma would have been a cat 4.

Of course, there are also high biases for many storms, and I highly suspect Camille is one of them (though the 909 pressure may lead to the one doing the reanalysis keeping it as a 5... even though landfalls have shown that NGOM storms typically have lower pressures than the winds would indicate)
