Yeah, I agree with JAC. This is a hurricane forum for discussing TC's. If I want an offical up to date analysis of only something allready formed or about to form, then I would visit NHC, not HC.
I think watching every potential wave and the associated analysis and monitoring is what really makes people learn about how these things work and evolve. I for one, can say from direct experience that posts and threads like these have expanded my understanding profoundly; and it showed in my Severe Weather course last fall when my proffessor and fellow classmates complimented my knowledge when it came to Tropical Storms/Hurricanes. I attribute that to learning from these methods. I've been coming here now for I'd say at least 3 seasons; and I've learned more in those three seasons in threads like this then I did in an offically strcutured course that involved classical training about hurricanes.
I mean, as much as HC is a Hurricane forum, I find it a really neat group of people who are fascinated by the earth sciences all in all, and I for one personally enjoy this forum for all these reasons.
