At this stage still small amounts in both locations. But apparently the recent circulation around Alex as it made landfall in Mexico (brough easterly and south easterly winds to La coast) has resulted in a spreading of oil in a generally westward direction. Some of the oil approaching the Miss-Al coast was apparently pushed west into Lake Ponchartrain. The oil near Galveston is quite a bit further west than any other reported pollution. |
