There is one reason an done reason alone why I will NEVER write a system off no matter how haggard it looks: Katrina. We forget that we watched that depression flounder across the basin and get officially written off with "final advisory" notes from the NHC not once but TWICE. It was a measly little wave that couldn't, and then, all of a sudden . . . it did. Count me in as one who absolutely thought it was a goner before it blew up near the Bahamas. |
