I had asked this question before....... if we track a storm by coc and a center reforms out of a dissipating storm (ie if Matthew "dies") how long must it wait for a new coc from the remnants to get a new name?is there a rule of thumb on the time limit?is it based on distance between where the center dissipates and the new one forms?I believe the first time I asked the answer I got was as long as it didn't cross over to the Pacific the name would remain the same. |
