I second your post, Cypress

A friend of a friend lost her elderly mother on the infamous bus fire. She decided it was best her oxygen-dependent mother leave the area, as did others, when the metro Houston area was looking at the "doomsday forecast." Her own home is surrounded by pine trees and was w/o power for some time post-Alicia, as were many similarly situated. This was about a month after Katrina, to boot.

My first evac destination choice, a farm in Cherokee Cty, Tx, ended up having more damage and being w/o power for 10 days.

My second, Victoria, was quiet but access was chaotic.

2005 was horrific for so many; HC helped.
