I think that mother nature has a way of balancing out the world in her own way, and yes it does run in cycles, much like the sun has it's cycles, I wonder if you should coorelate a research on how the suns activity was back in the 90's and I'm sure you will find similiar findings as such as I have. it definately would be a fun project to conduct, that is for sure.
