One other theory....

Most on here post about weather phenomons (sp),  but I really do think the suns solor cycle does affect the Earths's weather pattern.  2012 is suppost to be the peak of the sun's solar cycle and thus we have seen this so far with all the solar flares being pushed towards earths way.  This being said if the earth is at it's peak that would mean that the hurricane season will be a bust because I've kept track of solar flares and hurricanes in the atlantic in previous years and have noticed that it does affect a hurricane, how ever on a different side note, with active solar flares, you tend to get more earthquakes, so keep an eye out for more earthquakes to come.

Now this is only a theory and my personal opinion, and any critism will be taken in good content as I am no scientist or have a science major or weather major, just an observer of the weather patterens. :)
