| That is one of the disadvantages if something goes out wrong. Many sites share stories. It's like the Associated Press, only less trustworthy in this case. All these sites have the same basic content shared between them. They have their own small amount of original stories by them and then the site is "enhanced" with all this other farmed content from another source. It makes the site seem larger and more comprehensive than it is, along with being updated more frequently. I'm not sure who the provider is of the shared content though. You can see the .topic ending and many of the sites have "/topic/weather/17000000.topic". Additionally, they have a similar body and something like "View ThisSite.com items only". The shared content is the body of the page and then the site you are viewing it on picks the header and footer they want for the page and it makes it match the feel for the rest of the site. They could freely link to the content but instead they pay for the ability to incorporate the content into their own site. I don't like the practice very much. |
