We didn't have any power loss here either. Although, before Debby actually got here we did have no power for about 45 minutes, but that was just a day or so before she got here. I had figured we probably would lose power. I saw three transformers blow in the distance at night when I happened to be outside.

The wind was blowing from outside when the blinds were moving. It was probably blowing straight in at that point and with a sliding glass door I guess the wind can get through just enough between the panes. I had never noticed that before, it was weird to me.

Today has been nice. Only a sprinkle of rain since sunrise, though still a little breezy. In fact I went out and took some pictures of the nice clouds. The blue sky is back.

I was just talking with my neighbor and she was saying let's have this be our only tropical storm of the year here. This storm ended up giving us 4 feet of surge, though at the peak high tide it was only about 3.5 feet. That matched Frances in 2004, to perhaps exceeded it by half a foot. The station nearest me has no data available before 2005 so I was looking at St. Pete. Our front entrance was probably the most it has ever been flooded. (in part due to fresh water flooding not being able to recede because of the surge) As for the canal, I'm not sure if the 1993 no name storm was as bad. I can't remember very well how bad the canal was and don't recall if I saw the front entrance then, but most people around here thought this was worse and the news was saying that too. The duration of the flooding is most surprising. For 3 days in a row the water came up over the seawall. It would go down a foot below it maybe and then the next day it came back up. Finally this afternoon it is down a few feet. Usually when this happens the water recedes rather quickly.

Here is a slideshow of the pictures I took:
