The latest from the NWS...crested at around 2.23 feet above previous record of 34.47.

...THE FLOOD WARNING CONTINUES FOR THE FOLLOWING RIVERS IN FLORIDA...

 SOPCHOPPY RIVER NEAR SOPCHOPPY (FR 343) AFFECTING WAKULLA COUNTY

.INTENSE RAINFALL FROM TROPICAL STORM DEBBY PUSHED THE SOPCHOPPY RIVER
TO RECORD LEVELS TODAY.  THE LATEST MEASUREMENTS FROM A USGS SURVEY TEAM
INDICATES THAT THE RIVER CRESTED THIS AFTERNOON AND IS JUST NOW BEGINNING
TO RECEDE.  THE UNOFFICIAL PROVESIONAL ESTIMATE BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER
SERVICE IS A RECORD CREST OF AROUND 36.7 FT.  
LOCAL RUNOFF COMBINED WITH
RIVER FLOW AT THE SOPCHOPPY RIVER GAUGE...WILL KEEP FLOWS HIGH ON THE ENTIRE
RIVER FOR SEVERAL DAYS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

ALL PERSONS WITH INTEREST ALONG THE RIVER SHOULD MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS...
AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. DO
NOT DRIVE CARS THROUGH FLOODED AREAS. IF YOU SEE FLOOD WATERS...REMEMBER TO TURN
AROUND AND DO NOT DROWN.
