Commander Fleet Activities Okinawa

Good evening, Okinawa!

OK, whoever has the typhoon magnet turned on: it's working . You can turn it off now.

Super Typhoon Jelawat is super big and super strong and super ...... OK, I can't think of anything else super to say about it. How about super annoying. Or super determined to wreck the weekend. It's headed toward Taiwan right now, but JUST before it gets there, it's going to make this super insane hook to the east. Straight for us. 11 miles. And just in time for Sunday morning brunch. Super.

I'm calling it: set Tropical Cyclone Condition of Readiness "Bouncy House!" For those of you who procrastinated just long enough to get your grill and trampoline reset a full week after the last typhoon - psyche! I, for one, am NOT getting sucked into this inter-typhoon "nice weather" trick again. I'm planning on leaving my lawn furniture leaking on my living room carpet until Christmas ...

We're likely to start moving up the TCCOR ladder sometime Friday, so you still have a couple of days to pretend this storm isn't coming before you realize Saturday night - after all the stores are closed - that you don't have a single functioning flashlight in the house. Don't be Stormy. ;)

Stay tuned, stay safe! Stormy
