Tropical Cyclone Condition of Readiness 1E (Emergency)!

And. Here. We. GO.

What should you remember about 1E? STAY INSIDE! This is a serious storm and we haven't seen the worst of it yet. You'll notice from the track that the center of the 26-mile-wide eye will pass just to the west of Okinawa, putting us in the most dangerous part of the storm. No worries, though: there's a reason your house looks like a fallout shelter / parking garage. It may not have the charm of a wooden cottage on beach, but it thumbs its nose at 100-knot winds. Let it do its work. STAY INSIDE. You can still get a pretty decent view of your neighbors grill as it careens into your car from the front window ....

Stay safe! Stormy

Wow.

OK, if I have to tell you to stay inside NOW, you have some serious perception problems. Folks, this is a SERIOUS storm and it's going to get a LOT worse before it passes. We won't see the eye until around 1100 and the back side of Jelawat is likely to be worse than the front. Don't consider going out to chase down a trash can or roll up a car window - you need to stay out of this storm.

Stay safe; STAY INSIDE. Stormy
