Meanwhile, here in Tampa Bay, we are getting deluged. At last check, we are 6-7 inches ABOVE normal rainfall. This month has been absolutely insane with rain. I actually had some flooding in my house with tons of standing water in the back yard finally finding its way into our den. Had to get sandbags. I am renting this house; when I spoke to the landlord, he told me that had not happened in this house in 20 years. They used to live in this house back then; that's the last time it happened.
The rainfall gradient between west and east Florida this month is really stark--Jim's coast bone dry, my side under water. |
