It wouldn't surprise me if this thing gets to hurricane force when it makes landfall. The inhibiting factors that were supposed to really shear this thing to pieces on Thursday don't seem to be coming together as much, hence the shift in track more towards the west. The atmosphere isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Looks pretty impressive on visible. That's why I'm surprised as the 40mph winds. It just looks much more powerful, even on visible.
