One of the worst hurricanes every to strike the United States in this country's recorded meteorological history, the 1938 Long Island Express, recorded its lowest pressure of 940 mb . . . when it was a CAT 5! (Later made landfall as a Cat 3) And here we have 945 mb and Cat 2? Utterly perplexing. |
