Well see, the problem is the GoM is absolutely boiling now. 88-degree SSTs? Are you kidding me? Even moderately favorable upper levels are going to spell trouble over waters that warm. That GFS run is horrifying in light of what we are seeing still unfold in SE TX and Louisiana.
