Irma's Having Issues

Despite the obviously vigorous circulation and tight core Irma possesses, she's been having substantial issues with drier air cycling into the CDO.

MIMIC-TPW

Even in IR satellite imagery, you can see warming convection spiralling into the CDO and dry, sinking air separating the SW/SE oriented feeder away from the centre.

The MIMIC illustrates this perfectly. Frankly, the shear may be low, the environment may be moistening, and the oceanic heat content may be increasing, but until she finds a way to block out the dry air being pumped into her flow by the high to the N, she's going to be a constantly-fluctuating mess.
