Sted, they flag for different reasons. Two common ones are shallow water and rain contamination. The shallow water issue happens sometimes in the Bahamas where the SFMR will overestimate surface winds.
Rain contamination is the more common one. With this value in particular, the two before it were flagged and corresponded with higher rain rates. This one had a flag and the one after it, although a similar rate, was not. Very weird.
It is also odd that the surface winds would outpace flight level. Surface friction should cause winds closer to the water to be less. I can't account for why that isn't the case here. |
